About RSPCA Queensland
RSPCA Queensland has the largest and busiest Wildlife Hospital in the state, providing care to over 24,000 native animals every year. There are many factors that impact our native animals: natural disasters such as bushfire and droughts, dog attacks, road accidents and habitat loss. Every year our RSPCA Animal Ambulances attend over 24,000 rescue call outs for sick, injured or orphaned wildlife.
At RSPCA Queensland, we’ve been the state’s leading animal welfare charity for nearly 140 years, dedicated to improving the lives of all animals - domestic, farmed, and native. Every year, we care for over 42,000 animals, relying on the generosity of animal lovers like you to fund 96% of our lifesaving services.
Our Mission: Together We Change Lives, And That Includes Yours.
About the Role
We’re searching for a compassionate and proactive causal Wildlife Hospital Concierge to manage our Wildlife Reception, run our Vet Pick up service and help deliver exceptional experiences across our busy Wildlife Hospital.
In this frontline role, you’ll be the calm, knowledgeable and supportive presence for members of the public, wildlife carers, vet clinics, volunteers and internal teams. You’ll provide information, coordinate patient movement, and ensure every interaction reflects our mission, vision and values.

You’re someone who thrives in a people-focused environment and stays calm, kind and solutions-focused when things get busy. You enjoy a mix of customer support, problem solving and admin and can confidently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced hospital setting. You bring warmth, professionalism and good judgement to every interaction, while supporting and uplifting the volunteers around you.
If you’re someone who thrives on helping others, stays composed under pressure and is motivated by making a difference for Queensland’s wildlife, this is a truly rewarding role to be part of.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by managing complex enquiries from the public, carers and wildlife stakeholders via phone or in person (including updates, triage information and treatment discussions under clinical guidance).
- Provide high-quality administrative support and maintain accurate patient files and wildlife carer database records.
- Guide, support and train our Wildlife Reception & Admin volunteers.
- Coordinate patient transport by dispatching wildlife vet clinic requests to transport volunteers and ensuring timely movement of patients.
- Support the broader Wildlife Hospital Team during peak periods and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
No two days are the same at the Wildlife Hospital - you’ll work hands-on with an incredible variety of species while learning from a passionate, supportive team.
